2012: Eschew the Review

I’m going to avoid what a friend on Twitter called a “navel-gazing year-in-review” blog posts and just say that this year has had plenty of ups and downs but for the most part things are headed in the right direction. I’m looking forward to all of the things that ’13 will bring. 2012 was my most productive year yet (which doesn’t feel like a whole lot) and I’m ready to make next year even better. This is the last week my horror novel SHADOW OF THE PAST will be free on Smashwords when you use the coupon LS75W so grab a hold of it while you still can. The first Winston & Churchill collection SUMMER OF SINS is still on Amazon and you can even read the first story, NEVER LET GO, for free.

There was a decent amount of cool things that happened this year, as well as some pretty crappy ones and you can read about some of my best and worst picks for 2012 in the Panels On Pages 2012 Year in Review piece compiled by all of your favorite PoP!-Stars. Plus me.

Since it is the end of the year we at the Super-Fly Podcast figured we’d talk about some of our favorite things of the year as well as some predictions for 2013. I think we’re going to see some excellent stuff in the world of comics this coming year and I’m almost glad that one of my biggest gripes is that there’s too much good stuff coming out.

The Super-Fly Podcast Episode 131

It’s the last podcast of the year and the Super-Fly Crew is recapping the year in comics and nerd culture. The good, the bad and the predictions for 2013.

The Super-Fly Podcast: fresh for 2012, suckas!

Opening and closing music: KJ-52 “Do the Bill Cosby”

Super-Fly Podcast #129 & Free Christmas Murder

As a little holiday treat for all of you people out there I decided to make my horror novel SHADOW OF THE PAST free on Smashwords when you use the coupon LS75Wat the checkout. Because nothing says Christmas like a smoke and fire covered serial killer trying to kill a hapless teenage boy. ;)

When you feel like taking a break from reading you can check out this week’s Super-Fly Podcast.

The Super-Fly Podcast Episode 129

This week, Tony, Travis and Tad talk about publishers walking things back REALLY quick, how many copies of AVX 1-6 Super-Fly sold vs 7-12, retailers respond to Image’s “no reprints” policy, all the comic movie trailers that came out recently and what’s the best way to stop giant monsters, defense spending wise. Listen to it. Love it…..

The Super-Fly Podcast: Yes, Cable’s voice really sounds like that.

Opening music: Kool AD – “Manny Pacquiao”

Closing music: Kilo Kish – “BusBoy”

The Super-Fly Podcast AND Santa Bane are coming to town!

It’s been a weird couple of weeks. The long, slow march through December is going to be impressively bad this year, so I’m sure there’ll be more than a little radio silence on my end. I will, however, be still be doing Super-Fly podcasts and here’s this week’s:
