“Quantum of Solace” is the name of the new Bond movie? Really? They are promising more action and deeper character moments, and it apparently starts an hour after “Casino Royale” ended, but…really? That’s your title. Yes, it’s named after an actual Fleming story, but still. It’s just odd.

Kenzie is ridiculously ill. Hopefully this will pass, as she is quite unhappy. I don’t mind nursing, but I mind her feeling awful.

I’m happy with my progress on the new script. I feel like I’m getting into this good grove of focusing on an idea, working out the full first issue and then roughing the rest so that it can be tailored more to the artist that I end up working with. It’s worked with Lee thus far, and we’ll see if we get any bites on this one on Saturday. This way I can talk about the project in abstract “this is what it’s about and what I want” terms, and then have something concrete to back that up with. If I don’t get an immediate bite on this one I think I’m going to do a little bit more of a structured proposal format, with the idea of “I can maybe hand this to an editor one day.” Strangely, to quote the crazy Tom Cruise scientology video, there’s no room for spectating…I’ve canceled that in my area.

An aside: at first I was happy the my spellchecker didn’t recognize “scientology” as a word, because it’s not a real thing, it’s just organized crazies LARPing with other people’s money and lives, but then I got real sad when I checked to make sure, and it just wanted it capitalized, like it’s a day of the week or an actual thing that non crazy people do. Fuck that.

So someone in Temple Arizona really liked me today. Tons of hits from there. It’s no more weird than the hits I get all the time from weird foreign countries for no apparent reason. Today I even got one from Bratislava. Great, now Hostel is after me.

Yes, I analyze my tracking info. This makes me weird, but it means I know who’s reading, and who isn’t.

I just put all of my music on my playlist. We’ll see how long this lasts. Well, right now, it’s 160 hours. Many, many Gigs.

I am now officially excited for the Super Bowl. Much to Kenzie’s chagrin, I think this may mean a Super Bowl party is in order. And by party, I mean “having people over,” with probably only one them actually being interested in what is actually happening in the game. Hey, we just cleaned the house. Why not show it off?

Speaking of, tomorrow is Kenzie’s birthday. I’ve tried to tell her that since we’re now married and that means we share everything, that this means it’s my birthday too.

She does not understand/appreciate this line of thinking. I don’t think she’s going to get me anything.

We have our first “Dayton Area Comic Creators” group on Saturday. We’ll see if anyone shows. Lee finished a page of “Gifted” that just blew me away (okay, well, it was mostly done, but still), and I just finished the rough draft of another project I’m currently stalking an artist for. Ambitious much?

Terminator is good, but I’m not sure if it’s good because it’s good, or because there is no other scripted TV.

Watched “Smoking Aces” tonight. Was blown away, enjoyed it immensely, even if some of the plot points were very predictable. It took us until IMDB to realize that other girl is on Boston Legal (Whitney, the sassy one).

Cloverfield is phenomenal. Just stop asking “so what’s the monster?” It’s a big fucking monster, and it will eat your face. It’s in yur citees, eatin ur yuppeez.

Okay, so I’ll admit, even I am surprised at how far the Giants have made it. I mean, at this rate, if they make it into the Superbowl, then man…that’d just be weird. But then again you think about how good the first NY/NE game was, it’s natural to be hungry for a rematch. Of course, that’s assuming the Pats make it all the way. If it’s San Diego, then you got a real bi-coastal Bowl going.

Assuming, of course, the Giants win. I kinda wanted to Packers to win the NFC this year, but now, obviously, not the case. We’ll see if Little Manning can pull this one out.

I was sick this weekend, which is no fun, and I’m kinda still sick. That thick-headed sinus pressure that makes me wince and my eyes water like someone is stepping on them. Always, without fail, makes me think for a second “Oh my God, do I have pink eye again?” Got it a lot as a kid, but getting it from Allie several years ago is still enough to make me cringe. Worse than all the Hostels combined.

Terminator the show is watchable. Fun, and watchable. I like how they made the jump to present day, making the third movie not really applicable, but still mentioning stuff that happened in it. At first I was like “how hard is it going to be for Summer Glau to play a Terminator? Why is everyone talking about her?” but then you see, she’s different. A little off from the straight Arnie “I-am-a-robot.” There’s some story there, I think. Unknown model indeed. I’m not entirely convinced you can make a whole show of this, but y’know, if they just do three or four good seasons and then cut it that’d be good. I mean, T4 is going to be its own thing and shouldn’t have anything to do with the show, but that doesn’t mean you run the show in the ground. We need concentrated, better TV. Three great seasons that take us on a journey, not six mediocre ones where everything stays the same until the last season.

Okay, so this is neat. Not perfect, but neat.
