I dug out CD of MP3s my friend Dawn sent me years ago that got erased from my computer when I had to reformat the hard-drive last year. A lot of Einsturzende Neubauten (and I am *shocked* spelled that right from memory the first time), Modest Mouse, 800 Cherries, Barcelona, and a bunch of other bands I hadn’t heard of before. Mostly good stuff, and I’m going through it again because I need to make new CDs. Of course, this means I need to get a bigger case, but I can’t justify carrying one of those giant 300 CD briefcases around. I need one that’s about 9×6 (tall enough for two CDs) and holds like a hundred or so, with booklets. Do they even make ones like that? The biggest I’ve seen hold 48 with booklets, but that’s what I have.
Christmas, Christmas, Christmas… :)
I need to update and put a link to my Amazon wishlist. Because I’m greedy.
I also need to do some shopping for people, but I’m terrible at that. But I like to shower my loved ones with gifts. Sadly, with my income it’s more like a drizzle.
I need to arrange my time better, because I’m going to be really busy at work next week and the week after. Then, thankfully, vacation.
In TV land, I’m enjoying 24 this season. Some daring choices, making Jack a heroin addict and taking on this mission that ends up with him being a fugitive. I’m hoping we see Kate Warner from last season, who was apparently a love interest in the between season time. I watched the premiere of Line of Fire tonight, and it was promising. Almost like the Sopranos, but from both sides of the fence. Worth checking out if you have the time.
Time, time, time. Where does it go? I’ve been thinking of expanding my tiny circle of hobbies, with two jobs and parenting, it doesn’t even really leave time for the meager ones I have now.
Ah well, such is life.
Read “Blankets,” by Craig Thompson. It’s a huge, 560-page graphic novel, but it’s gorgeous. All about growing up different, first love, devotion, long distance, growing up, learning the difference between faith and religion, and all sorts of other stuff. Fucking brilliant. I know it sounds long, but you can read it in an afternoon. Took me maybe two hours. Check it out.
Timeless, I remain…
